Jealousy's Just Reward

Legend of the Negamoon is the 36th episode of Sailor Moon R. It was preceded by Future Shocked and followed by Jealousy's Just Reward.

The Sailor Scouts, Tuxedo Mask, Rini, Luna, and Artemis arrive in the future, at Crystal Tokyo, to see it in ruins. They see a hologram of King Darien, a.k.a. the King of Earth, Darien's future self. He was the one who gave Darien the nightmares, and this was actually just a means of testing his and Serena's affection for each other, as Prince Diamond will try to turn them against each other.

He leads them into Crystal Palace. He tells them the story. Earth was frozen by an ecological disaster, until the 30th century when Neo Queen Serenity and the king rose to the throne and broke the spell. From then on, Tokyo became Crystal Tokyo, until evil villains (possibly connected to the Negaverse) appeared. They were defeated, and most of them turned good by the Imperium Silver Crystal's power. Those that didn't were banished into space. Many years later, a rogue moon, the Negamoon, also known as Planet Nemesis, attacked, with those who had been banished before: Rubeus, Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond, Wiseman, and the Negamoon Sisters.

When the silver crystal went missing, this enabled them to attack. Everyone except the king (who was later injured) was put to sleep, and Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus encased Neo Queen Serenity in a protective layer of quartz to protect her as she was put to sleep. She is the future self of Serena, and Rini is Serena and Darien's daughter.

Crystal Palace is invincible, which is why the Negamoon family is attacking Tokyo in the past, as it is the only way of destroying it in the future. Diamond arrives, blasts everyone, and kidnaps Sailor Moon, taking her to the Dark Crystal. Tuxedo Mask goes after her.

At the Dark Crystal, Diamond tries to hypnotize Sailor Moon into loving him, but is stopped by Tuxedo Mask. They escape on a glider. Before Diamond can do anything to stop them, he is suddenly attacked by dark bolts of energy. It was Emerald who attacked him, in an attempt to stop him being distracted by Sailor Moon (as she is in love with him, and jealous of Sailor Moon). Sapphire is aware that she let them escape, and tells Emerald to forget about Diamond, hinting that he is in love with her.

  • The full story of the Negamoon is revealed, as is that of Rini. The Negamoon is also given another name: Nemesis.
