Sailor Scouts are the champions of justice given the mission to protect the world from the forces of darkness. A Sailor Scout is usually an average teenage girl, gifted with a magical item allowing them to transform into a celestial warrior.
Inner Sailor Scouts[]
The Inner Sailor Scouts

The original five Sailor Scouts; Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus, are considered the Inner Sailor Scouts. Their mission was to protect the Moon Kingdom and the Royal Family from evil forces within the solar system. Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus acted as Princess Serena's guardians during the Silver Millennium 1,000 years ago. They were killed during the Negaverse attack and along with Princess Serena and the others lost in the battle, were reborn on Earth in the 20th Century.
When Queen Beryl and the Negaverse resumed their plan to rule the Earth in the present, Sailor Venus was the first to be awakened by her guardian cat Artemis. Luna would awaken the rest of the Sailor Scouts, first Sailor Moon, followed by Mercury, Mars, and finally Jupiter.
Sailor Moon & Sailor Mini Moon
The 5 would unite to defeat the Negaverse, the Doom Tree, and the Negamoon. Each Sailor Scout has unique powers, but would usually need Sailor Moon's final attack to defeat the enemy. They can combine their powers into a strong attack known as Sailor Planet Attack and teleport together using Sailor Teleport.
When Rini returned from the future in Sailor Moon S as a Sailor Scout In-Training known as Sailor Mini Moon, she would join the Inner Scouts, as the sixth Inner Scout. She played a supporting role at first but would become the defacto second leader alongside Sailor Moon against the Dark Moon Circus.
Outer Sailor Scouts[]
The Outer Sailor Scouts

Unlike the Inner Sailor Scouts, the Outer Sailor Scouts were tasked with defending the Moon Kingdom from threats invading outside the solar system. Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto have stronger powers than those of the Inner Sailor Scouts. Amara and Michelle are awakened after the Heartsnatchers had already begun their invasion on Earth.
Sailor Pluto guards the Door of Time and Space and is known as a solitary Scout. She would come to Earth to aid her fellow Scouts against the Heartsnatchers. The Outer Sailor Scouts initially refuse to work with the Inner Sailor Scouts, believing they don't have the power or ability to stop the enemy no matter what the cost; though they would help each other during the ongoing battles.
Sailor Saturn
Sailor Saturn, despite never working alongside the other three, is also considered an Outer Sailor Scout. The Sailor Scout of Destruction, Sailor Saturn remained asleep until her ultimate power was needed.
Uniform[]
All the Sailor Scouts have the same uniform. As its name implies, it resembles a sailor's uniform: a white leotard and chest protector with three-ring shoulder pads attached; however, Sailor Mini Moon only has two rings, Sailor Pluto is the only Sailor Scout without shoulder pads, and Sailor Saturn has a unique set of sleeves that jet out almost like wings. Each has a different colored sailor collar with ribbons on the chest and back waist that resemble bows. A pleated mini-skirt at the hips, elbow-length white gloves with three padded rings at the top. Sailor Uranus and Neptune's gloves are much shorter, going to just above their wrists, while Sailor Mini Moon only has two padded rings.
Super Sailor Scouts
Each Scout has a choker around their neck, with Sailor Moon, Sailor Mini Moon, Sailor Pluto, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn having ornate charms on them. The uniform is finished with a gold tiara on the forehead with a gemstone in the center. Each also has a unique pair of footwear, with Sailor Moon, Sailor Mini Moon, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Pluto all having the same style of boot.
When Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon receive their Super upgrades, their outfits change. Now instead of shoulder pads, they have three translucent purple cap sleeves and a long silver/purple back bow. The Inner Sailor Scouts also get Super upgrades and receive longer back bows, one of the rings on their shoulder pads is replaced with a translucent purple cap sleeve, each of them gets a gold star on their chokers, and their round center gem on their front bows change to a heart.
